Vadient - also registered in various SBIR tracking systems as Voxtel Inc - has developed a technology platform that includes: tunable refractive index materials, inkjet-print AM fabrication processes, and optical CAD tools. The heterogeneous VIRGO optical materials are made from nanocomposite inks composed of non-scattering high?index ceramic nanofiller dispersions embedded in thermoset plastics. The optical-grade nanocomposite inks are inkjet-printed to form heterogeneous bulk materials, comprised of specific nanoparticle types and volumes, deposited in three-dimensional (3D) refractive-index gradient patterns that encode complex optical functions.
