Public Profile

In July 2004, Radex was acquired by AER (Atmospheric and Environmental Research Inc) also an SBIR involved firm. The acquisition is designed to strengthen and expand the firm's core competencies to include the full spectrum of environmental modeling. Radex, Inc. provides analytical and computational services to organizations whose missions involve experimental and/or computational projects in the near-Earth geophysical environment. Among Radex’s primary focuses is the objective of better understanding the ionosphere, atmosphere and detection processes, as measured by spacecraft and ground-based experiments. Radex has state-of-the-art mission planning applications that have enabled dramatic improvements in situational awareness for air to ground combat missions in programs for both the Army and Air Force. They have contributed significantly to the understanding of the infrared spectrum of Earth observations since 1978, and maintain a presence in current advancement through their involvement in C/NOFS, SCINDA, and AF-GEOSpace programming and operations. For its contributions Radex continues to receive recognition for technology transfer and scientific/technical achievement from the Department of Defense, as team members of key AFRL projects.Radex provides analytical and computational services to organizations whose missions involve experimental and/or computational projects in the near-Earth geophysical environment. Radex has participated in several critical projects for the Space Vehicles Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory (formerly the Geophysics Directorate of Phillips Laboratory), Hanscom AFB, MA. Radex has completed work in electromagnetic, chemical, and bulk interactions of space vehicles with the environment, detection of potentially adverse spacecraft, infra-red backgrounds, vehicle trajectories and attitude, and meteorological impacts. The objective of better understanding ionospheric, atmospheric and detection processes, as measured by spacecraft and ground-based experiments, requires intensive computational data analysis and modeling investigations.Working in close collaboration with the researchers, Radex performs the following range of functions: Preliminary data enhancement to refine the data, calibrate for instrument characteristics, and augment the data with concurrent environmental conditions. Statistical, empirical or model oriented studies of the enhanced data base for the phenomena of interest. Implementation of the physical model equations in computational form. This includes simulation and evaluation using models that embody the physics and chemistry of the phenomena. Real time data acquisition and simulation systems, integrated with evolving networking technologies. Graphical presentations for multi-dimensional and comparative visualization, as well as dynamic displays.
