Public Profile

Q-CTRL is an Australian based entity with (presumably) Q-CTRL Federal LLC their US component. The latter - in partnership with US Sandia National Laboratoryhas been DOE SBIR funded to research automated calibration, characterization and optimization of near-term quantum processors. Principals of thr firm note that to achieve optimum performance, the quantum computer needs to provide the qubit control pulses with the best possible characteristics. The optimum set of characteristics is a function of things like manufacturing variations or even environmental differences that can change every day. Many of the quantum machines currently are calibrated on a daily or even more frequent basis. This can be a very intense process if done manually and it get more and more complicated as the number of qubits increases. The Q-CTRL/Sandia project is designed to automate this process using artificial intelligence to reduce the amount of labor involved and improve the overall qubit quality when running programs.
