In October 2012, OPNET Technologies Inc was acquired by Riverbed Technology. Havingi tself acquired three other small firms, OPNET Technologies, Inc. was in the business of intelligent network management software that enables users in network operations, planning, engineering and application development to optimize the performance and availability of their networks and networked applications. The Company offers OPNET IT Guru and OPNET SP Guru, its intelligent network management products for enterprises and service providers, respectively. It also offers OPNET WDM Guru, an optical network planning product for equipment manufacturers and service providers, OPNET Modeler, a modeling and simulation product for network research and development and OPNET VNE Server, a software solution for unified network data management. OPNET Netbiz applications are custom solutions developed with the OPNET Development Kit, and are sold primarily to network equipment manufacturers. In addition, the Company offers model libraries that permit the simulation and analysis of major network technologies and communication protocols and modules.
