NanoCoatings, Inc. (NCI) is focused on commercial application of coatings developed by an associated firm with some of the management: Engineered Coatings, Inc (ECI). ECI has been very active in the SBIR space with the focus on surface treatments for a wide range of U.S Government applications. NanoCoatings, Inc. is leveraging ECI-developed technology advances for applications to private sector applications: biomedical, large coating vendors, cookware manufactures, turbine-engine manufacturers, aerospace, aeronautical/ aircraft, pump manufacturers, and advanced materials. NanoCoatings, Inc. has licensed technology from ECI for commercial applications. In addition to the unique vacuum-based PVD-CVD method mentioned above, NCI is investigating a hybrid Atmospheric-Plasma CVD / Nanoparticle Spray method to produce erosion-resistance and superhydrophobic/ icephobic surfaces and a novel cyclic high-voltage immersion-anodize process to produce crystalline oxides on complex shaped components.
