Housed in the Harvard University Innovation Lab, Gel4Med is an early stage regenerative medicine company focused on developing the firm's Therapeutic Materials Platform to address unmet clinical needs in soft tissue regeneration. The Gel4Med approach is focused on nano-engineering the extracellular matrix to guide cell and tissue fate. With a multidisciplinary team of engineers and entrepreneurs inplace, the firm is structured around development of a tissue scaffolding matrix that will safely eliminate antibiotic resistant bacteria from wounds and simultaneously promote regeneration. The firm's lead product is a synthetic tissue scaffolding matrix intended to eliminate colonizing antibiotic resistant bacteria from wounds (cutaneous, surgical, combat and ocular) and simultaneously promote tissue regeneration in a safe manner, without the use of exogenous added antibiotics or biologics.
