Public Profile

Based on Electrofluidic Device technology from the University of Cincinnati, Gamma Dynamics is developing a novel new display technology for applications such as e-Readers. With facilities also in Arizona, Gamma Dynamics is the commercialization arm for Electrofluidic Display (EFD) technology - an entirely different approach which is able to electronically reveal or hide pigments with the same brilliance as printed media. A wide array of products are possible, including portable electronics, e-paper, electronic-windows, point-of-purchase displays, and adaptive camouflage. The firm uses pigments provided by colorant leader Sun Chemical, and electronically reveal them in the same way that color is generated on paper. The firm's new electrofluidic display technology boasts some of the things you may be accustomed to in e-paper: bistability; near zero power; readable even in sunlight. However, what you really desire is video-rate e-paper that can directly compete with LCDs. With up 70% white state and 40% color saturation electrofluidic displays can revolutionize e-readers, smart windows, and adaptive camouflage, to name a few applications.. Product offerings for technology fall into two categories, active matrix displays and passive drive displays. -Matrix Display Products: e-Reader displays, Rollable displays, PDA’s, Cell-Phone displays, and other display products that are manufactured using conventional LCD-style manufacturing processes. These products are built on active matrix backplanes supplied by partners. Passive Drive Products: segmented displays, signage, etc. More information will be coming soon. The U.S. Manufactured Products division is located in Ohio, a world-recognized hub of innovative display technology and manufacturing
