Faceview Mask LLC (TM) is the very clever creation of long time practicing Registered Nurse (RN) concerns as her difficulty to connect effectively with her trauma patients through the standard protective mask. Acutely aware of the value and importance of communication between the clinician and patient, the idea of a mask with clear section allowing the other person to see the entire facial expression - and especially a reassuring smile - made sense. Such an adaptation also enabled reading lips for the deaf and the elderly and/or reduced the fear factor in children and others. With the number one cause of medical errors being communication errors, the FaceView MaskĀ has the potential to reduce errors and promote better patient outcomes. A non-medical model for personal use could also include as a dust mask, a tested medical/surgical model, and a respirator model with N95 certification
