In July of 2002, Chadwick-Helmuth Company Inc was acquired by Honeywell. The firm grew out of a JPL endeavor, having established an Environmental Test Lab focused to development of vibration testing and measurement equipment. In 1954, the firm was opened to produce vibration test and measurement systems similar to those they had designed and used at JPL. Responsive to the needs of Hughes Helicopters, the firm produced a field-ready Vibration Analysis System with field procedures for vibration management on their early helicopters. "Vibration Management" became part of every aircraft manufacturer's vocabulary and a full range of products.
