Absolute Closure Innovations, Inc. (ACI was formed to develop and market waterproof zipper closure systems emerging from patented technology -- a zipper closure system that is waterproof, gas-proof, and leak-proof. While several zippers currently marketed are water-resistant, none have been able to successfully integrate a slider and achieve a 100% waterproof capability in a low cost design. ACI has solved this problem with patented zipper systems containing numerous innovations that provide for a product with superior functionality and production economics ACIâs zipper systems integrate thermoplastic rails and metal or plastic sliders. For applications requiring sealed zipper ends (waterproof bags, protective garments, or dry suits), ACI utilizes its most advanced zipper system (ATX), in which a slider closes the zipper profiles and disengages, allowing the profiles to close completely without interfering with the integrity of the seal. For applications requiring complete separation of the rails (sleeping bags or jackets), ACI has a second system (SB) utilizing locking-rib rail profiles and a beginning stop block design. Both systems allow ACI to take advantage of the current advances in thermoplastics and address concerns relating to ease of operation, size, stiffness, temperature, color, friction, chemicals, and radiation.
