Phase I

Contract Number: N88-002
Start Date: 00/00/00    Completed: 00/00/00
Phase I year
1988
Phase I Amount
$49,100
This work addresses the recognition of transient and nonstationary signals by a collection of feature extraction algorithms followed by logic that combines the feature estimates to produce signal classification. The feature extraction algorithms Include estimators for spectral coherence, a technique that illuminates the presence of rhythmic modulations in signals. Neural nets will be examined as a method for encoding signal processing features and for performing the classification function.

Phase II

Contract Number: NAVY88-002
Start Date: 00/00/00    Completed: 00/00/00
Phase II year
1989
Phase II Amount
$250,000
Work will continue in Phase II to refine the signal classification techniques identified to be best suited in Phase I.
