Boston Fusion Corp. (BFC) and Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) propose C-THRU (Clutter-Target Hybrid Radar Un obscuration), a real-time algorithmic pipeline and supporting software infrastructure that declutters radar returns (data-cubes) to identify objects in complex radar environments. This C-THRU technology leverages our existing Space Time Adaptive Processing in Neural-Networks (STAPiNN) technology which achieves an impressive 18.3 dB (67.6x) improvement over the existing state-of-the-art (SOTA), e.g., Joint Domain Localization Space Time Adaptive Processing (JDL STAP). The STAPiNN technology achieves this performance by using advanced neural-networks (NNs) that incorporate electromagnetic wave physics along with an advanced generative adversarial network (GAN) which creates realistic and never before seen data for training NNs. C-THRU will make assessment of missile intercepts faster and more accurate by decreasing the amount of observed radar clutter - leading to faster corrective actions. C-THRU brings together a world-class group of researchers and engineers at BFC and RMD to meet or exceed the goals of MDA’s Algorithms for Radar Clutter Mitigation DPII topic.
