For 50 years Babington has pioneered the field of ultra-clean combustion for home and off-grid heating and cooking. Our unique air-atomization and burner technology provides for near perfect combustion of liquid fuels with variable heat outputs. Babington burners have heated homes and millions of meals for U.S. militaries and disaster relief organizations worldwide. Recently, we reengineered our combustion technology to reduce electrical power consumption, lower cost and support a platform architecture that enables transformative change - the replacement of destructive biomass burning stoves being used by nearly half of the world. We are entering emerging home heating and cooking markets, estimated at 100 million households, with new clean, affordable and user friendly multi-function appliances. This year we introduce the first Biodiesel-flex home heater in cooperation with the National Oil Research Alliance and a UN-Family- Cookstove, currently test-feeding thousands of Ethiopian refugees. The UNHCR project has eliminated wood burning and smoke in the kitchen. For Phase I we propose to build on these successes by including newly developed power generation technologies that will demonstrate a Net-power, Multi-Appliance that can immediately improve human health and environmental conditions, reduce carbon emissions, reduce deforestation, reduce gender assault and provide economic development.
