Verus Research is pleased to respond to the Air Force (AF) SBIR solicitation AF221-0007 entitled RF System Response and Analysis. In this solicitation, the AF is seeking
high fidelity modeling and simulation (M&S) tools capable of evaluating system performance of an actively tracking Radio Frequency (RF) seeker system subject to High Energy Laser (HEL) irradiation
to support system analysis related to the degradation and mission level impact and conduct active system testing to evaluate utility of predictive capability prior to HEL test activity. The end goal is to have a robust predictive capability. To address these requirements, the Verus Research team will apply its deep-domain expertise working on several related programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) covering the development and utilization of state-of-the-art physics-based predictive models that accurately capture the functional response of RF, analog and mixed-signal radar and seeker front-end components and subsystems (transmitter and receiver) utilizing high fidelity nonlinear device characterization and microwave modeling techniques. We will deliver on a robust, experimentally-validated, predictive M&S framework for HEL engagements of RF seeker threat systems that can be leveraged by the AF for assessing the effectiveness of HEL systems against similar targets of interest.
