Corvid will take its existing Tactical Armament for Loitering OperatioNs (TALON) weapon system and develop multiple variants to destroy petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) targets. For the successful destruction of POL targets a both a hole producing TALON and a POL ignition TALON will be developed. Working with Rocky Mountain Scientific Laboratory, an energetic material will be developed for a successful ignition of a variety of POL materials. RMSL will create an HTTP formulation that will ensure high heat delivery across all three discrete reaction zones. Corvid will use its previous experience using Velodyne and CTH in order to develop the hole creation effect for the other TALON projectile. In parallel with the TALON variants will be an initial exploration of a delivery vehicle capable of holding a deep magazine of TALON projectile and carrying them the remaining distance to the target for a precision swarm attack. Looking at existing delivery vehicles such as the Dynetics X-61 Gremlin and Boeing PrSM Modular Payloads S&T project a delivery vehicle will be adapted to fit any need the customer needs. These airframes allow for both a plane or missile delivery of a UAV carrying a swarm of TALON projectiles. Corvid will end the Phase I effort with one or more materials for POL target ignition and a hole creation concept to carry into Phase II for larger scale testing and refinement. Corvid will also end Phase I with a delivery vehicle concept to meet the customers needs to start development during the Phase II effort.
