SA Photonics CrossBeam Free-Space Optical (FSO) communication system is a fully integrated, compact, and robust system that has been designed specifically for GPS crosslink applications.CrossBeam includes integrated beam steering, high bandwidth tracking capability, all fiber optic based transmit and receive optics design, and high performance FSO modem technology to provide reliable data communications for long distance crosslink applications at the fraction of the Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) of RF based systems.;

Benefit:
SA Photonics CrossBeam system promises to deliver high data rate communications for GPS crosslink applications.FSO techniques have many benefits for space crosslink applications, include being LPI/LPD ,difficult to intentionally jam, immune to EMI/EMC, do not generate RF interference, do not require RF spectrum coordination, and have very low SWaP compared to RF solutions.CrossBeam is expected to support GPS and other satellite crosslink applications, as well as space-to-air, space-to-ground and other long distance, line-of-sight communication applications
