MicroMaterials specializes in the fabrication of single-crystal optical fibers by the Laser Heated Pedestal Growth (LHPG) technique. At present it is the only manufacturer of LHPG grade sapphire fibers worldwide. This technology enables the growth of single-crystal fibers with superior optical quality as well as with varied profiles. MMI also fabricates other oxide-type single-crystal fibers, either pure or doped, on a custom basis.
