A technology firm focused on advancement and implementation of technology in areas of microelectronics, computing and communications electronics technology for space and military applications, the firm provides radiation hardened by design solutions for advanced electronic systems and microelectronics. Space Micro has three distinct functional divisions within the company, dealing mainly with radiation related issues: 1) Space Electronics Division, which is involved in on-board products for spacecraft; 2) Domestic Security Division, involved in radiation effects on health and security; and 3) Advanced Materials Division, Space and Aerospace applications of anomalous condition detection in structures and coatings, including radiation damage detection. The firm is also completing research in design solutions for Single Event Effects (SEE), Total Ionizing Dose (TID) or Thermal Vacuum testing in microelectronics, plus methods for improving single event effects performance of high performance space computers, for several companies and government agencies. The firm also provides testing services that deliver comprehensive results of radiation, orbital altitudes, extreme temperatures and their effects on electronics. In January 2022, it was announced that a Denver-based Voyager Space Inc. (Voyager) - a global leader in space exploration - had completed the acquisition of a majority stake in San Diego-based Space Micro. Voyager will provide strategic operations support to help advance Space Micro's technology throughput to civil, commercial, and defense customers.
