Public Profile

Hokupa`a Technologies (formerly Aloha Networks, Inc.) is in the business of engineering, developing, and commercializing new technologies for high-speed, bi-directional, multiple-access wireless telecommunications. The basis for these technologies is Spread Aloha® Multiple Access (SAMA®), a patented breakthrough two-way communications protocol. The first commercial application of SAMA is SkyDSL®, a system that enables high-speed, bi-directional Internet access using the existing geostationary satellite infrastructure. Aloha Networks' emphasis is to provide technology and equipment to infrastructure developers, Internet service providers, and network operators in the data networking and Internet access markets. The patented and proprietary SAMA technology combines the proven simplicity and operational flexibility of an Aloha multiple-access channel with the high bandwidth and high throughput of a spread-spectrum channel, thus enabling system operators to serve more end users at higher speeds and lower costs.
