Inframat® Corporation ("IMC") in January 2004 was acquired through a share exchange by The Nano Group, Inc ("NGI"). IMC developed (1) ceramic nanocoatings for industrial and medical implantable applications (2) hardmetal WC/Co nanocoatings for industrial and aerospace applications (3) high surface area nanofibrous oxides for water treatment of toxic species (arsenic and lead) (4) magnetic nanocomposites for high frequency PC board applications needing high inductance. Inframat's patented core nanotechnologies are built around: low cost wet chemistry techniques to synthesize nanomaterials in high volume quantities; reconstitution of nanostructured powder feedstocks for thermal spray of nanocoatings, as well as the Solution Plasma Spray (SPSTM) method. IMC’s pilot plant is capable of manufacturing 20 tons of nanopowders for a wide variety of customer applications. IMC spun off Nanocor LLC and Embedded Nanomagnetics, Inc and established JVs in Jiangxi Province, China and Hyderabad, India.
