Public Profile

D-Star Engineering Corporation, also known as D-Star Aerospace, is a research, development and design firm specializing in automotive, aerospace, propulsion and power generation systems with special focus on enabling technologies for defense forces of the present and future. D-Star is creating hybrid blended wing-body airships, known as Aerosolencraft, combining blimp and ribbon wing designs, that have the ability of flying at altitudes of more than 65,000 for more than a year at a time. As the ships operate in areas of high internal volume, the craft does without high-pressure tanks, compressors and heat exchangers, instead gathering solar energy during the day and stores it as hydrogen for operation during nighttime. The firm has also developed a series of miniaturized, lightweight ‘heavy fuel’ piston engines and portable power systems and is now focusing on miniaturizing gas turbines to be able to be used for small UAV and missile applications.
