Founded by experts in normative and descriptive decision science, Prevision was origibnally organzied around applying decision science to many diverse applications from information retrieval to monitoring the nuclear test ban treaty to space shuttle operations to financial decisions. Principals of the firm developed algorithms and software for machine learning and model-based optimal decision and strategy analysis. In 1997, the firm was acquired by FICO (NYSE:FICO) originally known as Fair, Isaac and Company, a data analytics company based in San Jose, CA now universally known for credit rating services.
