Public Profile

VPDiagnostics Inc provides non-invasive (MRI and Ultrasound) imaging analysis software solutions for vessel wall imaging, enabling clinicians to identify and characterize high-risk atherosclerotic plaque before it leads to strokes and other cardiovascular disease complications. Traditional atherosclerosis risk factors such as stenosis (i.e., artery blockage or clogged artery) are giving way to direct assessments of the risk of plaque rupture, the primary cause of artery blockage downstream. By characterizing the high-risk features of the plaques in the vessel wall, physicians are able to plan the optimal prevention treatment. For carotid atherosclerosis, the preventive treatment options include Carotid Endarterectomy, Carotid Stenting, and drug treatments in order to prevent cerebrovascular diseases, such as Ischemic Stroke in general, and Carotid Stroke (the stroke caused by the carotid plaque) in particular. VPD develops evidence-based imaging solutions in order to non-invasively diagnose high-risk atherosclerotic plaque before rupture and to enable effective stroke preventive treatments.
