Public Profile

Focused on developing water-purification technology filtering water at high purity and low pressure, Cerahelix, Inc. is developing low cut-off, high flux ceramic membranes offering faster, better, and longer filtration. The company has developed a breakthrough nanotechnology by combining DNA chemistry with industrial ceramics. The result is a ceramic nano-porous material with extremely small pore sizes (0.6 nanometers) – three times smaller than the best ceramic membranes today. The first application for this material is nanofiltration, which separates components at the molecular level providing high purity separations even under harsh conditions – such as extreme pH – conditions that may make other filtration and separation techniques unsuitable. Underpinng the firm's efforts is a patented DNA template providing nano-scale features that allows for highly efficient separations. The ceramic coating process create filters capable of removing contaminants 10 times smaller than other ceramic membranes. The combination of bramic filtration and nanofiltration creates new opportunities in the separation and recycling of chemical compounds that could not be previously processed by other filtration means. The world has embraced membrane treatment as the most reliable and proven technology for providing safe and high quality water to the growing global population and to industrial productions.
