In October 2011, Berkeley Transportation Systems Inc was acquired by fellow SBIR firm Iteris, Inc. (NYSE Amex: ITI). The company now operates as a business unit of Iteris. Berkeley Transportation Systems is a privately held transportation systems consultant firm. The founders of BTS have been active in many ITS areas, but the focus of the company is on transportation data systems. Berkeley Transportation Systems has expanded to a hard-working, dedicated team of computer science and transportation engineering specialists. Early customers have included state DOTs, academic institutions and other transportation consultant firms.
