In May 2021 it was announced that the software firm Quantum Benchmark had been acquired by Keysight Technologies (NYSE:KYSE). Structured around identifying and reducing errors in quantum computing with facilities in Connecticut, Quantum Benchmark was in fact a venture-backed Canadian company and NOT SBIR eligible. Specializing in performance validation, error diagnostics and error suppression software for quantum computing, the company - spun off from the Institute of Quantum Computing at Canadas University of Waterloo in 2017 - previously worked with companies including Google, IBM and Fujitsu Laboratories to support various quantum computing initiatives. Quantums work has been discussed as bring(ing) the world closer to achieving the break-through applications of quantum computing including the design of energy-efficient materials, the acceleration of drug discovery, the promise of quantum machine learning, and so much more. Quantum Benchmarks technology improves the quality of the qubits across quantum hardware platforms enabling manufacturers of quantum hardware to design better qubits while also supporting quantum end-users stabilize the performance of qubits for their specific use-cases.
