Launched by the former start-up management of iRobot but since late 2017 having a new mmanagment team, CyPhy - previously dba The Droid Works Inc - builds unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for search and rescue missions as well as bridge inspections. Their first products are a line of UAVs that expand military, law enforcement, and inspection capabilities in remote situational awareness, endurance, and access. The firm's two primary products are the Persistent Aerial Reconnaissance and Communications, a vehicle system captures new heights in aerial reconnaissance, and the PocketFlyer, a drone that can fit in a pocket. The company's vehicles utilize a microfilament tether that is able to provide real time high quality video as well as providing a power source to the vehicle.
