Peak Nano Optics LLC - located in Ohio - is a subsidiary of Peak Nanosystems (Texas based). The subsiduary that is SBIR participant (albeit it minimally) is a polymeric technology development company that provides polymer science and fabrication of custom nanolayered polymer products to government and corporate clients. Focused on the development and commercialization of gradient refractive index lens technology (GRIN), technology was structured around specialty military applications and was funded through the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The MGRIN program organizes around developing and commercializing nanolayer gradient refractive index (GRIN) lenses for enhanced optical systems. The technology applications in the military, medical, and commercial sectors for uses ranging from binoculars and scopes to diagnostic imaging, cameras, drones, and any technology that utilizes a lens. The technology is customizable and can be create nearly any spherical refractive index distribution within a lens. Award recipient and PI appears no longer to be firm associated.
