Organized around effective engagement of artificial intelligence and computer vision, Synapse Technology Cororation functioned as a computer vision company focused on security & defense applications. The firm's proprietary computer vision platform - Syntech ONEĀ - was designed particularly to detect threats at X-Ray and CT security checkpoints. Effectively enabling automated screening technology, the expectation had been that more threats could be identifed at security checkpoints worldwide at the same time reducing operating costs and increasing throughput. Importantly, it seemed likely that the firm's developed platform could be employed both as new installation as well as being integrated into existing checkpoint machines at airports, in schools, office buildings etc. In 2020 it was announced that RapiscanĀ® Systems -- a global supplier of security inspection technology, also working in the space of security inspection technology - had acquired the artificial intelligence (AI) platform from Synapse Technology Corporation.
