USSOCOM seeks to provide Special Operations Force (SOF) Operators with a capable in-field mobile mission planning tool kit that generates 3D virtual models from georeferenced imagery. This system, described in SBIR Topic SOCOM191-001, is the Austere Environment Virtual Planning Tool (AEVPT).AEVPT builds a 3D virtual model for requested Areas of Interest and provides SOF Operators the ability to conduct virtual pre-mission walk-throughs via a Virtual Reality (VR) headset.Phase I of this SBIR is to conduct and document the results of a thorough feasibility study, and Augmntr will consider technical and operational realities including hardware requirements, variations in video sources and metadata, VR hardware, integration with other 3D datasets, and output products compatible with systems such as ATAK.The output of Phase I will include a white paper that fully documents the feasibility study, suggestions for custom hardware development, recommendations for gimbal/sensor providers, and an AEVPT performance calculator tool.A recommended AEVPT system architecture will be presented, along with a matching System Requirements Document (SRD) to support Phase II activities.
