Anchored in research on composite 3D printing by two of the founders while at Northeastern University, 3DFortify Inc was established to enable quick and seamless fabrication of composites with optimized microstructures. The firm is usefully understood as an advanced manufacturing startup aiming to disrupt additive manufacturing, ushering in a new generation of custom, high performance products. Having developed a patented process that combines 3D printing and magnetics to create aligned reinforced carbon fiber composites, the invented capability - magnetic 3D printing, or Fluxprint - is designed to bring optimized composites to engineers working in the space of Digital Composite Manufacturing (DCM): used in tooling, aerospace, and automotive applications. With DCM having transformed the DNA of materials, pushing out the boundaries of whatâs possible in engineering, the objective is to position Fortify as a leader in optimized composites.
