Xigen LLC works in the field of three dimensional (3D) endoscopic imaging technologies. In both medical imaging and industrial inspection applications, 3D surface imaging capability would add one more dimension, literally and figuratively, to the existing imaging technologies. The firm has developed a number of 3D surface imaging techniques and designs. The firm has partnered with several government agencies to advance 3D imaging across a wide variety of fields and applications. The firm is currently developing a novel optical design for a ultra-compact, low-power, light weight, and high resolution hemispherical dynamic camera (HDC) for extra vehicular cameras. The novel optics can also be used in the design of high performance cameras with different field of views (such as panoramic or wide FOV) for other NASA applications, such as robotic vehicles, docking, and rescue missions.
