Syntonics LLC, a leading provider of advanced technology RF-over-Fiber products, is proud to announce it received today a 2013 Tibbetts Award. The Tibbetts Awards are presented to those small businesses and individuals judged to exemplify the best in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The award is named for Roland Tibbetts, acknowledged as the father of the SBIR program, and is presented to companies and individuals that promote the mission and goals of the SBIR program and the closely related Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program.

Syntonics' business model is to use SBIR/STTR projects and university partnerships to create new products and develop technologies, which we then commercialize. The company two first product lines, FORAX RF-over-Fiber communications systems and Handheld Tactical Antennas were both conceived, developed and commercialized by the team of Bruce Montgomery, President; Doug Crowe, Chief Engineer; Gary Bruce, Senior Director Operations; and Ed O'Malley, Vice President Finance and Administration. This is the team recognized by today's Tibbetts Award.
