Public Profile

Sound Innovations Inc is developing Active Noise Reduction (ANR) technology for hearing protection in high noise environments. In addition to adding noise cancellation to earplugs and over-the-ear headsets, the ANR technology can be used to create a zone of quiet in enclosed spaces such as construction vehicle cabins. The firm’s first product based around this technology, the ACE, provides noise reduction and hearing protection for military aircrew. It is a compact, rugged system comprised of either a pair of earplugs worn under a flight helmet’s foam or leather ear cups and an ANR module secured in a pouch attached to a flight harness or a molle vest. The ACE was designed to be used in both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft and can be integrated quickly and easily into the HGU-55/P and HGU-56/P flight helmets.
