NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 20, 2010) - Alternative Fuel Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: AFTC) announced yesterday that they have received a $50,000 option to their Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract with the US Army.
Dimethyl Ether (DME) has potential applications as a chemical building block. Since the characteristics of DME are similar to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), it is speculated that DME can be used in large scale power production or be used in LPG automobiles and equipment. If these markets are recognized and developed, DME will see a substantial increase.
