Engineered Support buys Prospective Computer Analysts

Engineered Support Systems Inc. has acquired Prospective Computer Analysts Inc. of Garden City, N.Y., for $37.6 million in cash, it said Friday.

Prospective Computer Analysts designs and provides proprietary electronic test equipment, software and engineering services to military customers worldwide. The firm expects to report about $17 million in revenue for the 2004 calendar year. It has offices and production facilities in California, Florida, Georgia and the United Kingdom.

Gerald Potthoff, vice chairman, president and chief executive of Engineered Support, said Prospective Computer Analysts complements the capabilities of its St. Louis-based Systems and Electronics subsidiary.

Prospective Computer Analysts' employees and management will join Engineered Support.

St. Louis-based Engineered Support Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: EASI) engineers and manufactures military electronics and support equipment.
