Public Profile

HGT is focused to development of novel organic-inorganic polymers or glasses for protective or specialty coatings and other materials. HGT leases a Laboratory and maintains office space in the Fiber Optics Research Center at Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J. Hybrid Glass Technologies develops, produces and markets novel inorganic-organic coating materials called hybrid glasses utilizing the wet chemical process known as sol-gel. l The firm is focused to development of low volume sol-gel customer design products for photonic and optoelectronic industries. Since its origin, Hybrid Glass Technologies has previously been contracted by major industrial companies as: Alcatel, General Dynamics, Gould Fiber Optics, Schott, Luminescent Systems, PD-LD, as well as governmental agencies and laboratories such as SPAWAR or INEEL Hybrid Glass Technologies specializes in the synthesis of hybrid materials representing combination of various polymers and metal oxides These hybrids derived by sol-gel process from silica, alumina or titania precursors constitute low viscosity, stable liquid formulations. When cured by heat and or UV the hybrids solidify into hard, robust glassy materials adhering well to the glass, metals, plastic or composite substrates. We use the trade mark –Hybrid Glass for our products. Spin -, rolling dip-or flow –coating techniques can be used to apply these formulations on flat substrates. Silk screen printing, brushing or spraying can be used as well. Curing (drying) requires room or slightly elevated temperatures. These materials may be relevant for the following applications: * Coatings/ claddings, for telecommunication or specialty optical fibers * Water repellent, water barrier, anticorrosion, abrasion or scratch-resistant coatings for glass, metal, plastic and composite substrates. * UV-light or E-beam imprinted planar or channel wave guides or fine pattering and Bragg gratings coatin
