InnoVital Systems is proud to announce the achievement of a significant milestone in the development of the InVent Diaphragm Assist Device (DAD) - a breakthrough implantable ventilator device to assist patients with respiratory compromise. On October 30th, 2013, InnoVital Systems executed an agreement for exclusive rights to intellectual property that is jointly owned by MedStar Health and InnoVital. The agreement aligns InnoVital and MedStar, the largest health system in the Maryland -- Washington, DC area and a member of the Cleveland Clinic Innovation Alliance, in an effort to dramatically extend and improve quality of life for patients suffering from progressive diseases that affect respiration, including neuromuscular diseases such as ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), muscular dystrophy, interstitial lung disease, and COPD. A signing ceremony was held at MedStar Institute for Innovation.
