Public Profile

Established initially from what (and who) had been the Arthur D. Little's Technology & Innovation division, TIAX LLC brought to the table a very different set of skills and experience from those that largely define most SBIR-STTR Awardees. The TIAX management defined the firm's business operations primarily in terms of taking early stage inventions and innovations, transforming them in the company's labs into technology-enabled product platforms explicitly ready for spin-out. From various sources, TIAX personnel take early stage inventions and innovations where their expertise and facilities will allow them to make a large impact and processes them in the TIAX labs into product platforms that are technology-enabled, IP-protected, and substantially de-risked: market-ready: for sale, license, spin-out, or joint ventures. At this point in tme (2020) TIAX personnel are focused on: (1) Functional Wearables – where demand is soaring, especially in wearables and performance augmentation and (2) Functional Coatings – with applications potential in energy efficiency, process and material substitution, and environmental durability.
