Paris -- Sperian Protection announces today the acquisition of doseBusters™ USA, a pioneer in personal noise dosimetry technology. This acquisition represents the latest step in Sperian's strategy of providing a comprehensive set of intelligent hearing protection solutions.

doseBusters was founded in 2000, and has been developing and commercializing a complete personal noise dosimetry solution, the Exposure Smart Protectorâ„¢. The product utilizes a patented approach that integrates traditional occupational hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs) with personal noise dosimetry to provide real-time monitoring, measurement, and documentation of an individual's actual noise exposure in the workplace. The personal noise exposure data helps safety managers make informed decisions to reduce occupational noise-induced hearing loss, more effectively deploy their workforce in high noise environments, and select the appropriate hearing protection solution for each individual.

The primary target markets include heavy industries like oil and gas, petrochemical, metals fabrication and mining industries where workers are exposed to high levels of noise.

doseBusters will be combined with Howard Leight and Nacre, becoming part of Sperian's global hearing protection unit based in San Diego, California.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
