In April 2005, TriQuint Semiconductor (Nasdaq:TQNT) and CyOptics, a developer of optical engines for broadband metro and access communications solutions, entered into an agreement for TriQuint to sell its optoelectronics operation to CyOptics. TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. is a leading supplier of high-performance components and modules for communications applications. Markets include wireless phones, base stations, optical networks, and broadband and microwave with a specific focus on RF, analog, and mixed signal applications. Products are based on advanced process technologies including gallium arsenide, silicon germanium, and surface acoustic wave (SAW).
