Research Applications Corporation (RAC) provides computational products and quality scientific engineering services for government and commercial research applications. The company distributes, enhances and applies computer simulation codes for studies aimed at the rapid development of fusion energy as a national resource, as well as other application of dense plasmas including industrial, medical and defense applications. RAC's ePLAS code versions model intense laser-matter interactions, plasma jet production, opening switches, and lightning streamers. The ePLAS code product is available to users on a beta-test basis. ePLAS uses implicit plasma simulation to facilitate modeling over large temporal and spatial scales, while demanding minimal compuational resources. ePLAS - is a PIC/Hybrid simulation model for 1D and 2D problems in either Cartesian or cylindrical geometry. The code treats the background plasma as separate, collisionally-coupled Eulerian ion and electron fluids. Second order Van Leer methods track the motion of these fluids across a fixed mesh, and allow for large dynamic density variations. A relativistic "hot" particle-in-cell (PIC) electron component can be generated near the laser critical surface for laser-matter interaction problems. Hot emitted electrons can evolve from conducting boundaries. A PIC ion component is available for fast ion driven fusion studies. The background atomic properties can be obtained from tabular equations of state. A broad array of graphical diagnostics, including k-alpha are provided. The various plasma components move through a full set of self-consisent electric- and magnetic-fields determined by the Implicit Moment Method. Implicitness of the electric field permits the use of calculational time steps much larger than a plasma period and spatial scales far exceeding a Debye length. ePLAS can facilitate the study of global experiments with speed and economy on PC-class computers. A straightforward manual aids application.
