Periodically SBIR Involved in NASA (Phase I in 2007 and Phase II 2008), in Navy (Phase I in 2011) and most recently in NSF (2020), Miga Motor Company was formed around need for miniature, modular, memory metal actuator withthe firm structured around design and manufacture of Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) devices - developing SMA wire actuators primarily to build products for ODMs/OEMs and other enthusiasts - specifically to provide advanced technologies that offer important advantages over existing devices making the user's product better and more competitive in the market place - customize actuators to meet the client's specific application requirements. The firm is developing new types of electrically powered actuators that can be used to replace old-fashioned motors and solenoids in many applications. Miga motors are small, lightweight and very powerful. The firmâs DM01 actuator, which weighs 0.7 ounces, is able to easily heft a 7lb weight, almost 160 times it's own weight and the equivalent of a 200 pound man lifting the weight of a loaded cement truck. Miga Motors can be used in any application where a compact, silent, non-magnetic, electrically driven, high force, linear motion is desired. Applications such as this would include robotics, scientific and laboratory instruments, home and office automation, hobby, automotive, medical, and aerospace
