Cyanotech Corporation is engaged in the development and commercialization of natural products derived from microalgae. Microalgae are a diverse group of over 30,000 species of microscopic plants with physiological and biochemical characteristics and naturally containing high levels of proteins, amino acids, vitamins, pigments and enzymes. Cyanotech designs, develops and implements proprietary production and harvesting technologies, systems and processes, which eliminate many of the stability and contamination problems frequently encountered in the production of microalgae. The Company produces natural products from microalgae for the nutritional supplement, aquaculture feed, animal nutrition, and immunological diagnostics markets. Cyanotech also produces microalgae-based spirulina products for the vitamin and supplement market.
