MLPC was acquired because of its role as a manufacturer of microscale metal components for the medical device and defense industries. As a laser micro/nano fabrication center, MLPC provides laser machining services such as laser welding, microcutting, machining, micromachining, marking, engraving, and etching services. The company also provides CNC machining, passivation, electropolishing, assembly, testing, raw materials management, ultrasonic cleaning, and bead blasting services. With the acquisition of MLPC, Resonetics aims to expand its current focus on polymers and glass to offer a broader arrays of technologies and materials. Resonetics intends to introduce proprietary tools for medical device designers to aid the development of smaller complex products.
