Involving principals affiliated with Tufts University/Tufts Medical Center who had been conducting animal studies on a prosthetic pylon integrated with bone and skin of a limb's residuum, Poly-Orth International is an R&D company developing lower limb prosthetic devices based on a novel Rolling Joint technology with an anatomical-like moment of resistance to angulation. Also having done business as Mark Pitkin, the lead investtigator, the firm is working on development of a rolling-joint prosthetic leg involving a new ilzarov treatment and manufacturing technology for a skin-integrated composite prosthetic pylon.
