Why do I have to Register?

We know that for some people having to be Site Registered to get to more of the good stuff that is here may be seen as annoying and an unwarrented intrusion. Are not all the other SBIR sites - managed by the Agencies, States, contractors etc - unrestricted ccess? After all, SBIR is a federally-funded program ... and all you want is just a few datapoints.
       All that may be true -- but there is a good reason why people who need comprehensive, current and accurate SBIR-STTR data and the range of analyses that supports come here ... why they keep coming back and why they become paying subscribers.

None of those other sites have what they need!

The massive databases which underpin full functioning of this site were highly labor-intensive and expensive to create and are just as expensive to maintain - and not one penny of which was/is public. As a (the?) long-time SBIR advocates, we provide a substantial part of the standard information our Site-Users need at NO-COST. However, effectively to serve well that very large number of people who are SBIR-STTR interested and involved, it is useful for us to know who is using the site, why they are here and for purpose.
       Interest in SBIR-STTR - the program itself, distribution of awards, and, perhaps even more critically, the condition and achievements of participating firms - is diverse and wide-ranging. This is a hugely important business development resource. As the only place which tracks (on- and offline) all aspects of program participation and outcomes in a single comprehensive system,for those who are serious about SBIR-STTR activity, this is the destination site.
