I went to the DOD SBIR VC-type eventin San Diego last year and, frankly didn't find it too helpful. The support program was pretty thin - but most important, there were just too many bodies. I much prefer your type of smaller group approach. I might say too that if you are able to get involved a cross-section of those already investingin SBIR involved firms, that will be a major accomplishment and more than worth the price of admission by itself. Most of the tim when we are talking to funding sources, we have to explain to ethm what SBIR is. In fact in some cases with these types of guys, the fact that we have had fairly substantial SBIR dollars is almost seen as a negative. How come you have had all that money and you're not ready to Go Public? They just don't get the difference between the two type so money. As usual - you get to the meat of what we're thinking about and what is on our minds. See you in March!

I didn't go to San Diego but I have participated in events like this. The fact of our technology having been brought further along by SBIR support and therefore being of greater value is not understood by a lot of funding people. I really like the idea of this being just for SBIR Awardees. Do you plan to have Corporate VC people there?
