Nomination Due date....

Due date extension to . . . . . . June 15, 1998

Due to unanticipated delays in notification to Congress of the due dates for Tibbetts Nominations, the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Technology has extended the dates for Submission to June 15, 1998.

Where possible, to ensure that Project Organizers are aware that a Nomination is in preparation, interested parties are requested to complete at least the basic Contact Information section of Electronic Nomination form
and/or to contact by email - tibbetts@inknowvation.com.

Summary of Requirements
The 1998 Tibbetts Award Winners will be selected from the received NOMINATION Package

  2. Electronic version submitted

    • EITHER on a disk/zip cartridge with the package-delivered, hard copy on/before the May 29 due date
    • AND/OR handled from this site using the forms below
    If you opt for Website Submission on/before the May 29th due date, that Electronic Nomination will serve as placeholder. The full Hard Copy of the Nomination Package can follow a few days later.

    Administrative Note:
    Electronic submission may cause loss of formatting and special characters - bullets, scientific symbols etc - are often corrupted. Please prepare upload materials accordingly.

    All prepared, hard copy printed materials should be typewritten and single sided. Materials in the hard copy package should be collated, but not folded, and secured in an appropriately sized folder/binder.

  3. Nomination package components:
    Basic information cover sheet:
      All contact information for Nominator and Nominee - name(s), affiliation, address, voice and fax numbers, and email addresses. Electronic and hard copy.
    Nomination statement:
      A concise 1-2 page statement of the nature of the activity and/or achievement for which the Nominee(s) are considered eligible to receive the honor and recognition of a Tibbetts. Electronic and hard copy.
    For examples of Nomination Statements, you might wish to read some of those prepared for Tibbetts Alumni.

    Important notes:

    • Published materials about selected Awardees will be prepared from this statement.
    • Emphasis should be primarily on the business and economic achievement and, unless directly relevant to the nomination, NOT on details about the technology.
    • No information of a proprietary nature should be included in the Nomination Statement
    Supporting documentation:
      These may include hard copy and, where available, electronic versions of
    • letters of support
    • additional information about the company and/or the project
    • technical information on the developed technology(ies)
    Publicity materials:
      Photographs and similar graphics suitable for subsequent publicity purposes (these will not be returned). Special note: Preference is for photographs relating to the technology application or the business. Portraits or group photographs are generally not a good choice. Hard copy; electronic if available
    • Hard copy of photographs and/or graphics will be required of selected winners - color or b/w, any size.
    • Scanned versions are requested if available.
    Note:
    For scanned materials, notless than 300 resolution is essential; tiff format is preferred. Web graphics and those not properly prepared for electronic transmission are generally of too low resolution for use in print materials.
    Media and professional contacts:
      Listing of media (professional and mass, print and electronic) relevant to the particular nomination - please include all relevant contact information where possible. Hard copy; electronic if available
