National Association for the Self-Employed.
The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) was founded in 1981 by a group of small-business owners who recognized they could obtain lower prices for goods and services, which large businesses enjoy, simply by banding together. |
From that modest beginning with only a few benefits, the NASE has grown to enable the provision of more than 100 member benefits -- ranging from Health insurance to valued and important information access and support -- a menu of services designed to meet the changing needs of our members' professional and personal lives. NASE professionals also function as advocate on Capitol Hill addressing many issues of consequence to the overall small business community and support and encourage the NASE membership also to be informed, involved and and aware.
The NASE represents more than 325,000 self-employed Americans and owners of very small businesses nationwide. The organization has grown steadily to become the largest association of our kind. Membership spans a wide range of businesses, notably in the retail, service, construction and consulting fields. Most are 'very' small, small firms with over 85% having fewer than 5 employees.
